Thread Topic: I asked this in my personal thread but
-
why do people believe horoscopes?
Just...
Why?
Giant balls of plasma floating in an endless void can't and DON'T do s--- about the future.
so why? -
seriously
-
I feel like ghosts just have their own lives just like us humans but that's just my views.
-
Why do people believe in god?
-
Your spiritual beliefs are in no way more valid or correct than anyone else's.
People believe in things, like god or horoscopes, for hope. To give them a reason to hang on. To quell their doubts in the world, to comfort them. Some out of fear of the unknown. There are many reasons, but, and I say this with all due respect, please don't act like someone believing the stars guide their life is somehow more ridiculous than the fantastical claims outlined in the bible.

Seth has a point, Rav.
-
yeah i get the point but it comes off as direct attack against specifically christians
-
What part of that read as an attack to you? This is an absolutely sincere question, by the way, I'm very confused as to what offended you in that.
-
Just something about the way it was written
-
Have you considered the way you wrote your post? If you can acknowledge that Seth had a point, then you must understand that spirituality is different for everyone and should be respected. Your first post gave off very condescending (might be the wrong word, but I hope you understand what I'm saying) vibes. Seth responded in kind.

"Giant balls of plasma floating in an endless void can't and DON'T do s--- about the future" sounds way more disrespectful than what seth said.
Modern astrology is watered down and over-simplified. If you're truly curious id recommend looking into traditional astrology and the beliefs surrounding it. Its less predicting the future and more looking at patterns.
But i have a feeling that you're not seeing knowledge, you're just dogging on other people's beliefs. But lord forbid anyone say anything about god, that's offensive.. -
Like how is what seth said more of an attack than what you said.
-
I specifically quoted Christian beliefs because you have spoken about your beliefs before and I wanted to illustrate to you that all of the rude and offensive things you have said about astrology can very easily be applied to your own beliefs, and you should be more considerate of your words. "Golden Rule" and all that. If my response offended you, think about how your post would sound to someone who follows astrology.
When I was young I fell into the same trap of looking down at people for their spiritual beliefs and it's not a good look. I think you should reasess your statement. I'm sorry if I worded it in a way that came across as an attack, I am not really a passive person and being mean was not my intention. I truly think this is a learning opportunity you should take because I acted the same way as a kid on the internet, and as an adult I wish more people would have called me out. That's my intention here -
Ah.
