how ironic, i wrote a poem regardding war this morning.
-
tongue AdvancedI hate war.
-

This is whut i think about war
They fall, one by one
Like scattered poppies
on an endless field of blood and gore
This battlefield, stained with honor and integrity
Tell me what were they fighting for?
The soldiers, falling one by one
like dominoes, all across the floor
Tears woven into the life that comes
That dreaded march to the door.
Next comes the shattered hearts
The nightmare that came to life
The news felt like a dagger
or maybe it was a jagged knife?
Like toy soldiers, falling one by one
Like leaves, falling in the autumn breeze
Like a horror movie that could turn you green
You can't unsee what has been seen.
An endless supply of eagar recruits
Ready to fight this endless war
Like pawns in a game of chess
Just to watch the eagle soar.
Toy soldiers, falling one by one
The broken echo, of the questions asked
The distorted song, sung by the faven
Did they care, do they really care
for the lives lost in the endless war? :P -
Nice poem, does anyone else plan on joining the army?
-
tongue AdvancedNo, but I commend you for your bravery. A good friend of mine is in the Marines, and I can't help but admire his courage. Those guys are doing things I could never do, going places I would never want to go, and putting their lives on the line everyday. So they have my respect. Our soldiers are pretty badass if you ask me.
-
I don't plan on joing any military, but I am for war.
-
tongue AdvancedI take issue with that comment Brit. I believe that a person who claims to support war should be willing to fight it.
-
some people find war ok, but think it is morally wrong to personally fight in one
-
I think you should fight for what you believe in. Wether that means war or another course of action. But if war is neccessary, then I'm in support of it.
-
tongue AdvancedWait Pyro, you're confusing me. You said you were joining the Army, right?
-
@tongue, yeah, y?
-
tongue AdvancedYou just said that you think it is morally wrong to fight in a war.
-
Ah, I said some people think war is morraly wrong, I see nothing wrong with war at all and plan on proudly serving my country
-
tongue AdvancedOh okay I misread your quote. I thought you dropped an "I" in there. But yeah, that kind of thing bugs me, how some people can so feverishly support a war that they don't fight. I can understand it if you have kids and are older, but it really bugs seeing people like the College Republicans, who are combat age, support the war in Iraq but refuse to enlist. That was more a Bush era thing, but you get the idea. The Army is probably better off without smug, pampered College Republicans in their ranks anyway.
