  the #1 rule about psychiatry is trust. If you make it sound like an assembly line or a buiseness, no one is going to want to share their secrets with you. It takes time to learn people. Even professional psychiatrists know not to ask if someone needs help. If someone really wants to talk, they'll find you. And even then, you get to know them first.
  I would know, I'm studying to be a psychiatrist.
