The weirdest fear I have is when I go to the bathroom at night (especially after watching a scary movie or something). I always get this completely irrational terror that when I go to the bathroom, some demon is going to come up from the toilet and grab me in the vagina and pull me down with them. I have no idea why but it's gotten worse ever since I was little. Maybe some of it was intensified from that really creepy scene in Teen Wolf where Lydia got pulled down the drain in the shower by something that I don't quite remember. It was a stupid show, I don't even care.
The other thing is that I am terrified of mirrors at nighttime. It all started from a "traumatic" (by my definition--but it's not that bad actually) experience when I was really little where I was sleeping in a hallway with a giant closet mirror taking up the whole wall on one side. (My grandma came over and so she was sleeping in my room) On the opposite wall was one of those nightlight things that changes colors. (Btw this hallway was super narrow--basically the width of a sleeping bag) So of course I couldn't sleep because that's just poetic and so I was just kinda lying there with a giant mirror on one side and a color changing nightlight on the other side. And since the mirror took up the whole wall, it reflected the nightlight so that it basically flooded the whole room with whatever color the nightlight was. So every time the nightlight changed to red, it was like the entire hallway was filled with this bloody-looking, scary red color. I know it sounds stupid, but that nightlight still kind of freaks me out for that reason. And then if I looked in the mirror just the right way, my face totally looked like some kind of demon. I don't even know how to describe it, but it was terrifying as a kid to have to sleep in that stupid hallway every time my grandmother came over. So to this day, I refuse to look in a mirror when it's dark, because I'm scared of what I might see. I know it's really stupid and probably none of it makes much sense, so just ignore this.
But basically at night I can get pretty ridiculously freaked out, to the point that it's almost amusing. Anyone else? -
