Okay so I'm running a Dungeons & Dragons game and my party is about to enter a museum curated by a lawful neutral lich. (Think owl from avatar) I'm trying to think of a few things I can add to the museum that would make sense there, but also would match the fantasy feel. This is what ive got so far.
Â A large mural depicting an Elven glade that is perceived to be 3-dimensional.
Â A collection of artifacts recovered from an ancient Merfolk civilization.
Â A large collection of pinned insects, some as big as a halfling.
Â A room that houses a square mile of living, dense rain forest. the room is perceived to be 10x10 on the outside.
Â A collection of the remains of ancient creatures, including several mostly-complete sets of what are believed to be dinosaur bones.
Â A zoo exhibit in which the animals have been shrunken down to a hundredth their normal size.
Â A mummy exhibit, curated by a Lawful Good Mummy Lord who greets the party amicably as they enter.
Â Rows of individually-displayed coins of all kinds, each with a different minting, displayed in a rough chronological order.
Â Objects and accounts from mages and explorers of each of the Elemental Planes.
Â A greenhouse filled with plants native to the feywild.
Â A room containing strange contraptions made primarily of wood and cloth, apparently made in an attempt to fly without the use of magic.
Â Portraits of various historical figures. When approached, each voices a small scripted speech on their lives.
Â Displays of small oddly-shaped rocks that had supposedly fallen from the sky.
Â An exhibit on dragons of different types. Displays of scales and other body parts, small samples from different types of hordes, as well as accounts of interviews with several metallic dragons.
Â Sculptures of various creatures that, when not being looked at, change their pose.
Â A large domed room depicting a view of a clear, starry night sky, despite the wheather conditions or time of day. A large telescope dominates the center of the room.
Â A room containing bio-luminescent fungi native to the Underdark, otherwise kept poorly-lit.
Â Various displays of humanoid body parts and organs taken from the bodies of zombified victims, or otherwise tainted with necromancy.
Â An exhibit containing intricate statues made from various metals and complex machinery, shaped into the crude forms of humanoids. Plaques describe a means of making these sculptures move like living beings, and even possess independent thought.
Â Various large, fossilized eggs of different magical creatures.
New suggestions would be appreciated. -
