Thread Topic: What would a siren sing about to get you to jump...
-
I posted it here because it asks what people hold most dear. Mythology can be molded to fit stuff like this, because they're stories and hey, stories are meant to be told and shaped and enjoyed. It fits here more than a lot of other things do.
You're entitled to your opinion, and I respect that you have an opinion on the matter, but your negativity isn't necessary.
By the way, I think if Sirens were going to try to lure you to your death, they'd probably mimic me or the other moderators and, like always, you'd immediately whine, complain and jump (into the sea, to your death) to prove us wrong. ;) -
And why isn't it exactly necessary? What's the point of "respecting my opinion" when you disfavor the tone of it and rather it be something else?
Not unless I was a male sailor, which it's pretty affirmative that I am not. ;) -
Because there are obviously people who enjoy this thread. Not everything needs to be serious or criticized all the time. And it's because I'm actually mature enough to listen to what others have to say, even if we're not on the same page.
Of course I'd rather it be something else though, because then you wouldn't be arguing about this with me. Still, I respect the fact that you can and have made your own opinion on the matter.
I'm assuming you're referencing the fact that Sirens come from Greek mythology, so if I may... Ancient Greece was incredibly misogynistic. Saying that Sirens only lure male sailors because myth only really held male sailors is ridiculous. I'm sure Sirens would've lured ladies in too, seeing as how they were just water spirits that enjoyed attacking people sailing on their seas and rivers. -
Either way, I'm done arguing with you. This thread is getting off topic.
I think Sirens might also lure me in with Starbucks (lol), or Dunkin's chai now that I've had it because oh my godddddd. -
