Honest NewbieWords from a different generation I suppose. Someone on a forum -mainly of middle aged + adults- said this to me. Made me think just how seriously we as younger people take it, so many of us live part of our lives on here and get upset. You take it as serious as socialising real life. Whereas to them its merely an internet forum they visit sometimes as light hearted recreation.
I thought I should share the words in the thread title with you and I hope they make you think. -
It's something I've noticed about the younger generation. They take everything as either a complete joke or dead f---ing serious. Why are there such extremes?

i think its just because in these past years children have been raised to be very passionate. young people now dont have 'casual' interests so much. when they like something it becomes this massive part of their life and they jusy get so attached.

Bit that's also because they didn't necessarily grow up with internet or the same type of internet we have now

what does internet have to do with not being able to take things so seriously.
A mark of maturity is being able to entertain an idea without accepting it as fact. -
I'm able to do that and I'm not an adult. Actually in conversations with my dad, I'm able to do that better than he can...from what I can tell. And this while thing came from talking about how this is just a forum, and because we grew up with stuff like this then we take it more seriously than someone who didn't might.
