Yes, the month of December is upon us, that time of year when people perform empty gestures of kindness, only to return to screwing each other for the other eleven months of the year. You've seen this stuff, right? Some dude at Dunkin Donuts pays for the next 500 people or some s--- like that. What does that do to help the world? Not a lot, all it does is give 500 a free cup of coffee. And really I just question the motivation of half these people who do public acts of kindness. I think most people would rather appear moral and virtuous than actually be moral and virtuous. And who are you when I'm not looking? Are the people who aren't strangers to you recipients of the same kindness, or are you so damn charitable because you treat the people love like dirt all year round and need to do something to convince yourself you aren't a walking, talking piece of s---? And I'm not just asking because I'm not sure. I know people who are actually like this, who perform grand gestures for people they barely know but selfishly inflict harm on those they are closest to. Sorry to be so cynical, but I have my reasons.

It's why I hate the holiday season, all I see are fake gestures everywhere.

This is why I don't believe in presents.
