Thread Topic: The word "clique".

I think it's a stupid term. It's basically a way to demonize a group of friends. If I like someone, I'll talk to them. If I don't like someone, I won't talk to them. This isn't a "clique". This is a person dealing only with people they care about.

You just basically defined 'clique' you dumb---.

Clique is a stupid term and the fact that you use it to describe in a negative light something that is completely natural makes you look even less intelligent than everyone already knows you are.
-
But, usually people in cliques don't like people that aren't in their box.
-
People aren't in cliques. People have friends and enemies. You can't shame people for not going out and socializing with people they don't like. No one is obliged to do so.

The difference between a "clique" and only talking to people you like is that usually, in a clique, everyone is either on good terms with each other, or a pact to keep their hatred hidden for the benefit of the group. A clique will generally dislike a person or group as a whole. What Sunneh's suggesting is that she can have friends, and all of her friends don't have to like each other. And if they do, and all spend time together, they don't have to dislike or like the same people.
A clique is slightly more vicious and forceful on conforming than just having a friend group is.
