So, wait, slow down. You just carry around a book you got from the library, for no reason; you never read it, and then get mad when people assume you read the book you always carry around?
Are you holding the book for someone else? Is it assigned to you for, like, English Studies? -
Not just one book. I eventually return it and get a different book so people don't get suspicious.

Alright, now I need to know. What possible reason could you have for carrying around a book you never read?

Well, lots of reasons. Mainly I just act like I'm reading so people don't talk to me. I'd prefer to just sort of stare into space but people assumed you're depressed when you do that. So I pretend like I'm reading instead. It's also a very effective way to stalk people's convos.

Okay, I guess I can...kind of understand that? Why not, you know, actually read the book though? I can't imagine how boring it would be to sit alone, doing nothing for hours at a time, while your friends are having fun without you and probably not even missing your presence. That just sounds horrible.
