  I know it's hard, but it gets better. Everything gets worse before it can get better. Just don't give up.
  
  I very recently just turned 17. and honestly, I think it's f---ing terrifying but I know good things can come out of it. Everything has a good and bad side. Being an adult just means you have more responsibility. No one really grows up, we just pretend to because that's what we're expected to do in society.
  
  you'll have more freedom, your own place, and the choice to manage your relationships without people meddling in it. You can finally start to pull the strings of your fate. When you spread your rings and leave the nest, it means your parent(s) have done a good job and gave you what you need to soar.
  
  It's going to be scary, but you never have to go through anything on your own. Trust yourself and the people who care about you. You can do it.

  I just saw this. And, despite the fact that nothing I say will probably equal Carri's advice, you're my friend so I'll try and help.
  
  I know how you feel. The numbness and uncaring. Fortunately, for me, I've always had ways to make myself a bit happier, even if it's limited. Is there anything that just makes you happy? Anything that makes you excited? Do it. And don't be afraid to tell someone how you feel. Telling people over the internet does help, since there's people like Carri who know what they're talking about and people like me, who just wants to help.

  Thank you guys this advice really help. Today I actually told someone that I'm depressed, I was just so sick of trying to hide my feeling that I told my friend Ian.

  I'm excited for those liberties that I'll receive when I'm able to be on my own, I think it's the responsibility part that frightens me. I know I'm not a baby that needs to be coddled, it's just too unreal to think that I'm going to be a working functioning member of society.
