THEY DO EVERYTHING!!!! Im getting one tomorrow, and it used to be my dad's phone, so yeah.
Pros:
Apps
Texting
Calling
Internet
You can use it on planes
Good wifi -
I mainly got one because it was easier to get photos from a vacation (or just being out) onto social networking site and sometimes in school we were allowed to use smartphones because the Internet in school is too slow (and the computers broke down a lot).

it teaches you the value of hard work. I got my smartphone this way. -
You could also offer to pay for part of it. There's the part that's like added onto your bill even if it's a normal phone and then there's the data package (the extra cost with a smartphone). You could pay for the data.

Shhhhhhhh. *hi five* Logically you should get the life proof case but it's really ugly and expensive to be honest. I got one anyways for if I go to the beach or something important, but I don't like it much for everyday. You should probably go to the mall or something before and get a case. The hard plastic is the best because it doesn't bend off and it'll stay on.

I am going to the mall today to the movies and that's when my dad is going to buy me a new phone case. He's giving me his iPhone 4 and he's getting an iPhone 5. Everyone I know has one, so I'm kind of happy :P also, this would be my second phone... My first phone didn't have internet, apps, games, and it wasn't touch-screen. So, yeah, I'm pretty excited. I had my old crappy phone for about three years, and I had to live with it. I hope getting an iPhone is worth it!!!! *ofcourse it is!*
