You know... I really think that corruption is too present within politicians. I think it's about time we did something about this. But what can we do?

Kill them.

dw1996 NewbieTerm limits and publicly financed elections. You basically have to get corpoe money out of the system.

The problem is how... the people in power benefit from the corporate money. They won't get rid of it.

Mary124 NewbieWe should end corruption in a peaceful way

Hmm, well there are several different ways to go. If you want a completely foolproof way to get corporate money out of politics, we would need to abolish capitalism. The only other way it could possibly happen is if we as private citizens insist that our leaders not accept corporate donations. There was a pledge started by the organization Americans for Tax Reform that politicians have signed to never raise taxes. There should be a pledge that politicians should sign saying that they won't accept corporate donations. The weak point of this plan is that signing and abiding by that pledge puts candidates at a financial disadvantage, which could cost them elections. But if the culture of politics in this country were to change enough that we would reject anyone who accepts corporate money as a leader, then corruption in politics would greatly decrease. Whether you favor that direction or a communist takeover, the point is this: it comes down to us as citizens to act and to do something instead of waiting around for someone else to fix it.
