"They see it everyday! They constantly get messages insulting and threatening them! IT WAS CONSTANT AND IT DROVE THEM TO SUICIDE"
Block/delete/report. It really, really isn't hard. The fact that it's constant simply means the "victim" didn't even bother to try and do anything.
"BUTBUTBUT THE BULLY WILL MAKE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS AND--"
Block/delete/report. The fact that they can make more accounts does not cause the block/report system to work any less. After a few blocks, they will become bored and look for someone else to annoy. -
of course, this only works on sites with that option, if its like gtq and theres none of that option
JUST LEAVE. -
Really.
That's why those options are there.
Maybe some people are just stupid? In that case they should put it in one of those "Big official notes to everybody" things. -
that's what i'm sending to people on my website once i get it fixed xD
-
yup. glad to see people agree with me LOL
-
I just cuss them out until they get bored. Its fool-proof.

Believe it or not, I used to be one of those annoying kids like you described, up until I was about 10.
Reason being I was growing up (or not really) in a community that ENCOURAGED this behavior. I was actually told that whenever I got called a mean word to run away and tell someone. Either that or really just do nothing.
Then I realized just how mature THAT looked and tossed the stupid "strategy" in favor of learning to stand up for myself. It took a while, though, because
1. I had no one to tell me what was REALLY effective
2. I was pulled out of public school because my mom was "concerned"
3. I was having trouble just understanding how to be social as it is because of the Asperger's.
So generally, I had to figure out how to stand up for myself AND how to properly make friends, all alone.
And guess what, I did it (or at least have it down but is perfecting it).
Now I'm glad I didn't just do the lazy thing and kill myself. -
When I first started here and began using the internet, I was one of the kids you described. Why? Because I was uneducated and socially awkward. I didn't have friends in real life and the ones I did were... dips---s, really. I didn't read what I posted carefully and ended up getting yelled at/ect. And I was, what, 9 when I started using it all? 11 when I came on here? So I didn't understand and felt like everyone hated me over the things I said, but didn't understand. And I considered myself being cyberbullied because of it.
My rules for cyberbullying:
*If they're really young and most-likely don't know any better, give them a talking to but if you go full-out on them, that's cyberbullying.
*If they're just getting picked on for the stupid things, that's cyberbullying.
*If they're mature enough and understand what they're posting is wrong, that is NOT cyberbullying, because they're being an a--hole themselves.
That's how I roll
And just leaving a website sometimes won't do any good, especially if they know of the person in reality.
There's some flaw in my post, but hopefully you'll understand.
I think everyone here has made a good point in some way ^^ -
I agree with you, Ting, and tbk.
If you post crap and get yelled at, it's you're own fault.
If somebody randomly starts yelling at you for no reason, report them or whatever. If it's a site like GTQ and you feel like you're being bullied, JUST LEAVE. Go to another site.
Now, if whoever was bullying you follows you to whatever site you went to and starts bullying you there or whatever, leave that site as well.
But if they start following you again, or if they start e-mailing you or something, that's just out of hand, and you need to tell somebody about it. And it's pretty creepy, since they know which website you're on now. -
LOL Ting! I agree.
-
Well I was young! I didn't have and friends and didn't know that the internet was as cruel as the world I was living in. At that age, all I wanted was to make a friend, even if that mant over the internet. And besides, if I never got on as early as I did, I 1) wouldn't be on this site today. 2) Would probably still be uneducated because I hadn't learned about the internet and it's ways at an early age.

@kaitie thats what PARENTS ARE FOR, but they're all idiots these days so i'm going to have to agree with you on that part
i didn't get on the f---ing internet til i was 12, i'm STILL the same old b------ as i was a couple years ago -
i only cuss at people when they leave mean comments on my quizzes or anything simaler
-
I got on the internet when I was 8, and was a moron until I was 9 or 10. :/
8. Mio Dio, whenever I think about some of the stuff I did, I still go *palmface*.
And now, I honestly don't blame the people who screamed at me. xD -
Who the f--- are you talking to.
I don't insult helpless people, only the people who are worth it.
