Many reasons for this, including the obvious ones, but let's discuss in length.
1. Misandry. (This is the term to describe hatred against men, misogyny is the term to describe be hatred against women).
Pretty obvious, there are huge gender wars on Twitter. For no reason. Men=Bad and Women=Angel. Now, I am in no way misogynistic, don't take it like that. I just think that, yes, women are equal to men. We should treat everyone the same. With respect. But this also means women can be absolutely crappy people sometimes too. If you dare talk about attraction to men on Twitter, you're gonna get hit with "Sorry for you" and if you discuss being transmasc, you're gonna get hit with "Why did you change to the enemy's side", no doubt.
2. Cancel culture
This is the dumbest thing I've ever come across. Instead of letting people who are accused of things talk about their side of the story, try to confirm/deny accusations, and letting them grow and change, we only take the side of whoever is accusing, and that always leaves to loss of friends and path to growth. They don't let anyone grow from bad choices. Also, quit cancelling things from like 10 years ago. Just stop.
3. Everything is for the peer acceptance
When the Wilbur/Shubble or George/Caiti things were out, or with Palestine, so little of them actually believed what they were talking about, they just wanted to seem cool with their peers. I'm so sick of #ShubbleSupportSquad and #FreePalestine because 75% of the time, they're only saying that to seem cool and because everyone else is doing it, without even looking into it further than that.
4. Death threats
The amount of times I've heard of death threats and DoXing threats is absolutely insane. I don't care who it is, death threats are never okay in any way.
5. Really closed-minded
How dare anyone have a different opinion than you with evidence, send them death threats. /s
Fits with #4. It's giving right wing practice with left wing ideologies (with the amount of people there saying they'd never be right wing, this is kinda funny lol)

I swear Twitter does need to be banned its getting n my nerves because you have all these YouTube creators doing s--- and don't even get me started on the vivziepop and gooseworx drama like everyone is getting mad at gooseworx because she told people to stop hating her for content farming, everybody is making fun of Micheal kovach for asking not to ai synthesize his voice but like how would you like it if random ahh people were taking your voice and using it in ways you didn't want? its freaky, there is literally so much drama on Twitter and it just needs to be gone.

I think it just needs to be moderated. It's supposed to be a news type social media, but it's biased based on what you usually go on, and it has too much misinformation and bots to be truly accurate. Idk I think Elon Musk has enough money to try and fix it
