I see a lot of people on the Internet saying that you can't be racist to white people and I disagree with this statement. I would love to hear your thoughts on this, but as always, KEEP THINGS CIVIL.
Also since someone may inevitably ask: I am not white. I am a person of color. Please proceed -
Aaaaaaaa I just wrote a whole thing and reloaded
-
I don't believe racism against white people exists. In my experience, it's a nonissue brought up only to deter what could otherwise have been a productive conversation about actual racism.
There are POC who dislike white people because they're white. I'm not saying that's not the case, I just don't think what white people experience can ever be compared to the real racism that's so deeply engrained into every aspect of this country. -
The meaning of racism
Characterized by or showing prejudice, discrimination or antagonism against a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.
Racism happens less to white people, but still can happen. For example, a German person tries to go to a party, but they're not allowed in because they're not British.
However, racism against white people happens way less than it does to people of colour, if not never. I've never seen, heard of or experienced racism against a white person. -
This sentiment has been arounf for a while, and it's the kind of thing that makes me want to cut someone's face off
-
I believe that racism is applied to all races, although the whites do not experience as much as others do. But I am not saying that people are not racist to whites, or vice versa. There are white people who are racist to other whites. So, yeah...

@Ravager - Please calm down. Don't bring threats into this

I believe that the issue comes from believing that all racism is systematic. All systematic racism is racism, but not all racism is systematic. The problem also comes when we define race purely by the colour of someone's skin. Race includes ethnicity and there are a lot of people who would all be considered "white" who are very diverse from each other.

I found that in predominately black areas, white people do revieve racism from the black community. I don't know if this is because the racism the black community receives as a whole and they believe they can take the "advantage to get revenge" in areas that are predominantly black, but racism towards white people does exist. As mentioned before, it won't compare to the other records of racism towards people of color because there is still privilege today, especially in the work place. And when has history counted many instances of white slaves? It has happened on the occasion, but again, this is probably when the black community felt they could give back what they received when they were the majority in certain areas. (This statement doesn't excuse racism towards white people.)
What I'm saying is racism towards white people does exist, but what you see is most likely just bits of revenge compared to what the black community has endured combined with what they still endure. I don't condone revenge racism, but it appears to be what's happening. And with the way the courts are ruling to remove the history of slavery and such from everything, it just gives the white community more leaveway on inequality, in the eyes of the black community, because it seems their history is invalidated and the equality they long fought for will be unknown and even irrelevant with privilege still being an issue.
I don't know if any of what I said makes sense, but I hope it helps.
