I normally dont get into politics, but I need your answers to a question
So I stand my ground and am a firm believer in BLM. I dont stand for Blue Lives Matter at all, because becoming a cop is a choice, being born any skin color isn't.
But, is it okay that I still stand for Backing the Blue? Because I agree we need reform (or at least have some change) in our current police system. I also know that every current cop isn't corrupt and some would lay down their lives for anyone
So what are your opinions?
Side Note: Just here to be educated so I can know if I need to change my viewpoints on Backing the Blue -
I have no idea what anything you said means. What's Backing the Blue?

Here is an official webite:

Here's an article I found:

I don't see why you would have to pick a label and pick sides. There are good cops, there are bad cops, there are black criminals, there are innocent black people that are treated unfairly, and so on. I do think we need cops (bc crime will always exist), so I don't see why you wouldn't back the blue. Cops have saved so many lives, but ofc it's an imperfect system, just like all systems.

@Star Back the blue (or not back the blue) as in, police injustice has been revitalized. Since 2014 I think (Garner), we have been sitting on the sidelines waiting for initiation. No one speaking up about racist acts of violence. Our eyes have been nearly permanently reopened due to Floyd and since then a new kind of anger emerged. It takes certain huge moments to cause a huge change in mindset.
This imperfect system is the exact reason why BLM started. Although the system can't be perfected, stereotypes can and should be rejected. Ideas control people, and people control the system. Change the ideas and the people change. Systems change as a result. Not all cops are bad, yes, but that doesn't tackle the big political problem up in our face shouting slurs and killing in the name of social misstep -
If I had a highlighter I would emphasize
Ideas control people, and people control the system. Change the ideas and the people change. Systems change as a result.
Take note, this is only possible under reformist fire. In our corrupt, hierarchic world we must construct protests significant enough to impact the opposing ideas (and holder of ideas)
Which is why things like this are such imminent questions to address. Backing the blue, there is nothing wrong with it, unless the person in support neglects or confuses the foundation of our current problem -

Alrighty. A lot of people only seem to say "Black Lives Matter" and so on and so forth when a white person mistreats a black person. But when a black person mistreats a black person, or a black person mistreats a white person, the media could not care less.
Yes, black lives DO matter. But they matter all the time, not just when a white person is thrown into play. There's corruption in the police department, yes, but there's corruption everywhere! And that's how it'll be, because we're all human and we make mistakes.
A lot of policemen and policewomen are really amazing people who sacrifice their time and even their lives for others. They don't deserve to be slandered along with the few corrupted ones, that's just wrong. -
Some police just need to be educated better, but you never know what they’re going to do until they do something.
-
I do feel like the entire police system does need a reform. I just want to know if it would be appropriate for me to support Back the Blue and BLM.
-
I'm not sure why no one else has told you this but there is literally no feasible way for you to support both Back the Blue and BLM. BLM is a movement for police reform, BTB is a movement against the police reform BLM seeks and produces propaganda depicting BLM as violent extremist thugs. Supporting BTB and BLM simultaneously is as possible as supporting Planned Parenthood and Abolish Human Abortion simultaneously.

@SprinkledSpice There is no epidemic of the justice system failing to prosecute black perpetrators or vindicate white victims.
