Do you guys know? He'll give a speech at Madison Square, NY
-
His speech would be broadcasted simultaneously on a big screen at Times Square.

Over 18,000 people are attending the event at Madison Square Garden

Very odd turn of events. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think our government considered Modi a war criminal at one time. I guess this whole thing is about trying to bring India and the United States closer together. I can see why Modi and India would want that considering that Islamic terrorism is a big problem in India. However as an American the prospect of our government becoming involved in India's affairs makes me very nervous. Despite the fact that our government likes to invade and bomb countries as a hobby, I can assure that most Americans do not want to be entangled in the affairs of other countries.

Modi ji has been falsely accused for the Gujarat riots. The opposition party earlier asked America not to let him go there as they were against Modi ji. The opposition also used to insult him. We know that he's a nice person coz we can see the development he has brought to his home state when he was the Cheif Minister. And now, he's the Prime Minister and has enormously worked for the development of the country in the last 100 days.
The mis-interpretation of Modi's image was done by the opposition party because they felt they would surely lose in the elections, and that's what happened.
And terrorism is a global issue. If nations unite to fight against it, it's good coz both America and India face the same problem. -
Well, nations uniting is a nice notion, but what almost always happens is that the United States ends up bearing most of the burden in international conflicts. It is never a truly equal partnership. Hence the reason I am weary of growing ties between our two nations.

But I guess security is just a side-dish of this meeting. The main purpose why Modi has gone is to bring MNCs to India. His main goal is development through trade. He's working on 'Make In India'.
