Well it's an interesting book. They practice Animalism where they have Commandments that should "never be broken."
The "they" that I refer to is a farm full of animals who have no human leader bc they run him off the farm and are lead by 2 pigs named Napolean and Snowball. In Animalism, they swear to never do as a human does. The Animals were free and happy and no longer slaves belonging to humans. The rebellion against humanity was a success and Snowball wanted to spread the word to other farms while Napolean wanted to finish some work on the farm.
(Now, I can't tell you anymore unless you want me to basically ruin the story [and it's a good book] but I shall do some historical similarities)
The pig leaders are compare to Stalin (Napolean) and Trotsky (Snowball) and Animalism would be compared to Communism (Appayipyip42, that comparison was for you xD) and this basically is a comparison to what happened in Russia during Stalins leadership.
There are Dogs who portray the Secret Police and there are battles and it all goes to show u that you shouldn't believe everything you are promised.
It's really a cute book in the sense of how George Orwells had the animals portray the the true events from History but to a scaled, logical model of how it would translate to animal terms. I recommend it, especially if u want to get the just of what happened in the Russian Revolution in a creative manner in a means of around 122 pages of a small book size. This is used in high school classes often. -
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggg. How did I know I would be mentioned here.
But I have read it, and it is in fact one of my favorite books. Many people take it to be a criticism of all communism, but it's really a criticism of Stalinism. Snowball, or Trotsky, is a good character in this book. My only real complaint is that there's no Lenin in the book, as far as I remember.
Seriously, I'm a sucker for metaphors like this one. -
Yup, Lenin was missing.
-
What is a story about the Russian Revolution without Lenin? That actually did bother me quite a bit while reading it.
-
Yeah, but how would Orwelles had included him? That's what I wondered.
Another pig or something maybe with a time lapse btwn rebelling against mr. Jones and....? Idk -
Lenin's pig would have led the farm along with Snowball, before Napoleon took power.
-
Yeah...
But it was still a great book. The ending was some weird Twighlight Show Episode (idk if you've seen the show) but it was...appropriate? It made sense. You are what you pretend to be. -
Or more like you become what you pretend to be...

I have read this book, last year actually. I do think it's a wonderful book and recommend it to others to read.
