  Here's what I think:
  
  They decided to shut down the stupid government just because they can't get along. Why can't they? because they don't want to. They want to keep on causing trouble. They're acting like Toddlers fighting over a toy they want. "No, MINE!" "No, MINE!!!!!" Over and over. One is not willing to give up, and so is the other, so about a million americans are being effecting because of this shutdown.

  It's all about how their political ideologies conflict and how neither party is willing to buckle under each others pressure. Fortunately they got their heads on straight, because we just reached the debt ceiling. I don't know their plans yet, because I haven't found anything on the news yet, but it seems that ObamaCare will carry through. Yes it's stupid to shut down a government because of healthcare but people aren't perfect.

  One of the biggest problems in Congress is that the parties draw the Congressional districts to ensure their own supremacy. Also less people vote in midterm congressional elections than in nationwide presidential elections, and the people who vote are usually farther away from the center. There really isn't any way to fix the first problem except on the state level, because state legislatures draw voting districts. The second problem would be easily fixed by giving everyone elected to the federal government four year terms that begin and end in the same year presidents are elected. Really though both sides have just gotten so entrenched. It's not like Congress didn't work before, even when there were extreme politicians on both the left and the right. Right now we have about three months before this all starts up again, the deal that ended the shutdown is only temporary.
