We're all gonna die tomorrow.
Ok, not really. But the economy might go into recession again because our leaders are useless douches, Obama included in this particular case. But he doesn't have the incentive to act, because after all, everybody is on his d--- so hard and they'll just blame the Republicans. And all those extra days Congress was in session? They're just doing it for the overtime pay! No one's trying to get anything done.
Go back to bed America. Your government is in control. Here America, watch season 2 of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. We got this s---. Democracy doesn't require active participation, just a six-pack and bad TV!
On a somewhat related note, Kim Kardashian is pregnant with Kanye West's baby. I'll be donating actively to Planned Parenthood for the next nine months. And if that doesn't work, maybe Jessica Simpson's fat ass baby will eat it.
What a glorious f---ing country we live in. -
Welcome to 'Murica, where fat is a disability, pregnancy is a disease, and pizza is a vegetable.
Anyway, one of my biggest concerns is the fact that the Bush tax cuts are now permanent. The wealthiest 2% of Americans get tax cuts but the lower and middle class Americans have to pay more taxes? WTF
Canada, here I come. -
I haven't even looked at what's in the bill yet. That's the dangerous thing about deadlock, it means everything gets done at the very last minute or has to be jammed through one way or another. Nobody knows what the law is until it gets passed. But for all I know you are correct in your assertion that the Bush tax cuts on the wealthy are permanant. And in practice, they basically were anyway. In our hypercapitalistic country, the rich can never be asked to bare a larger burden during a time of crisis.

Because the rich have all the influence in the government.
