School was over for the day. Alys walked back to her dorm, eager to get started on the new book she got from the library. -
Korliana slowly walked home, she thought about her geography homework, how was she supposed to locate the Soviet Union if it didn't exist anymore?!

Upon reaching her dorm, Alys saw that the door was slightly ajar. She cautiously entered the room, and was shocked to see one of the guards asigned to protect the city standing beside her bed.

As Korliana reached home, she remembered that her friend Alys had a bunch of old maps. Maybe if she tried, she could find one with the Soviet Union.

"Are you the resident of this dorm?" the guard asked. "Y-yes, why?" Alys placed her bag down slowly, her eyes never leaving the guard. "I'm afraid I have some bad news." the guard said, then handed Alys a cream-colored envelope.

At that thought, she ran to Alys' house.

Alys took the envelope and watched the guard leave. She sat on her bed and opened it, revealing a letter sent by her father.

But when she got to Alys' home, all the saw was Alys' house and a slightly open door. Should i Go in? she thought.

This is what the letter said:
My dear Alysen,
I'm sorry to inform you that your mother has passed away, leaving all her responsibilities to your sister. She wont be gone for long, but when she returns you'll have to treat her with as much respect as you would me.
You loving father, Damian -
i think i should drop out of here. sorryz, just doesnt seem right
