  Alice sat on the front step, texting Jonathan. She had liked him since third grade, even if she wouldn't openly admit it.
  
  So, this summer's it, huh? The last summer of Alice and Jon... He sent.
  
  She frowned. Guess so. Where are you headed to after this? She would miss him so much... He was the only reason she felt like getting up in the morning.
  
  The Air Force.A stab of pain went through Alice's heart at these words. He was joining in the midst of a war overseas. She bit her lip. This might be the last summer she'd see him... She shook her head, pushing away the thought.
