Thread Topic: I don't want to talk

(Oooh. I was so close to putting blue. They're blue instead now xD)
I had opened the blinds near the window closest to the street just enough to peek out. Mikayla was packing some stuff quietly, yet quickly. We had finally decided we had to get out of the house eventually. I saw some raiders outside a nearby store. I swiftly moved my hand and slammed myself against the side of the wall space next to the window.
Why didn't Bailey just help me? -.-' Sure we're not the perfect siblings, but doesn't mean he can't help prepare to get the fuck out of here.
(Do you really lie about your age on here? ;-;) -
"Where is Erin,"Penny said to herself,"She should be back by now."
I got off of my bike and slowly wheeled it past the men. Being on the other side of the street I probably wouldn't be noticed.
(Of course, all you need is someone's name and age and you can find out who they are, where they live, etc.) -
When I thought it was safe enough, I slowly moved back to my stalkerish position at the window.
I went upstairs and took a final sweep of all the rooms. I was satisfyied with what I packed and went back downstiars to make sure we had everything.
(Did you lie to me?) -
But with my luck, they noticed me. "Hey Erin, come over here. Let's talk."
"No thanks."I said.
"Wrong answer."
I got on my bike and pedaled as fast as I could. Hearing the gunshots behind me only made me pedal faster. -
(yeah...sort of. You know my real name.)
-
I got a few final things and snapped at Bailey, who was hunched over the window. The snap startled him. "Get your stalkerish butt over here and help me get this planned out."
I sighed and walked over. "Isn't it obvious? We take the stuff and move into a store with stuff in it" I put it simply.
(I meant about the age) -
I waited in a broken-down car until they ran past me. They didn't come back up my way, so I biked back to the broken glass window of the store and climbed in. It had been a sporting goods store before the moon and it was bound to have some dried/never go bad food in it. I found a few packs of jerky and a plus-size jar of nuts. I put my glorious findings into a trash bag and tied the bag to my bike.
(Okay here's the truth I'm a 13 year-old, in seventh grade.) -
(I'm gonna have to leave in a bit to eat)
I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Put it this way, you don't go and run a race in the Olympics before training and learning the rules" I said slowly.
"Why do you always have to make me seem stupid?" I asked, getting a little cranky. "I know that, but with this we don't have time to make a list of our lives" I snapped.
(That's what you told me) -
I felt so relieved when I got home. My mother looked in the bag then hugged me saying,"Good work."
-
I opened my mouth to reply, but instead rubbed my forehead. "Let's not start fighting. We've already lost mom and dad to this stupid moon thing. We can't loose each other"
Realizing she was right I hugged her. "We'll be fine" I said, not even trusting my own word. -
My mother acted like everything was still normal. She acted like that my father and brother were just on a vacation, when they had died in the first wave of tsunamis to New York. I didn't know why she tried to hold on the way things once were.
-
(I gotta take a shower)
When the streets were clear, Bailey and I each grabbed a bag and took our bikes to the closest store. With our luck, it had already been raided. -
I went back out to see if I could find anything else that we could use there. Like clothes, batteries, something that could be used as a weapon.
But I felt something wasn't right. The hole in the glass had been widened. "Someone's in there."I thought to myself.
I went in anyway because if I was quiet enough I could make it out with a few things and not be noticed. -
(hello?)
-
(I'm being kicked off early -.-)
"Shit" Mikayla mumbled. "Now what?" I asked. She glared at me and then loosened up a bit. "I don't know" she said with a sigh.
