Thread Topic: READ THIS IF YOU'VE BEEN HERE LESS THAN 2 MONTHS

Ciao, new users. I've actually posted this twice before, but I've lost both of them. >.

Personally, I think it's utterly disgraceful when older GTQ members side with each other - when evidently the Newbie may be in the right during a disagreement.
I, for example, experienced this first-hand and wholly consider it as a still fundamental issue on GTQ. If you can clear as crystal see someone who is correct on whatever subject matter and for that not be acknowledged during a disagreement simply because they are a Newbie - why should that be? Why not be the voice of pure correctness? When you side with an older GTQ member as if they are right, even though they are in the wrong, isn't that wrong within itself?
It is evident discrimination.
Would you like to be discriminated against? Shunned for simply voicing the plain truth? Discrimination is wrong and unconscionable. If you can see that - why on earth do it?
Furthermore, for those that say,"This is the internet, we can say whatever we want to people and not give a toss!" Yes, yes you can! You can also rob a bank, and trip a person on the street - but that doesn't mean you should. Sitting in front the comfort of your computer screen it's easy to type vile, unfair abuse - isn't it? If you have an ounce of human compassion in you, please consider the human being on the other end. Do you all remember TwilightObssessor? He was another troll. I, personally, tend to think that if someone is spewing vile, rude abuse at another person it's because they want to put someone else down - to feel better about themselves. Well, TwilightObssessor was one of them. He'd been shamed, forgotten, ostracized - because of his facial disfigurement. It may have been fabricated - the whole story he told - may have full well been fabricated, but you simply don't know.
Yes, we have many immature, intolerable Newbies visit here. And many of the aspects Nakita covered I fully agree with and, also I must mention, this is by no means an attack on her thread. We are human - we inevitably make mistakes - but we can also learn from them.
This Newbie discrimination is evident, but imminently noticeable during a disagreement.
It's clearly wrong, almost stereotypical, and discriminatory. You can be in a clique, a line of work, or on GTQ - it is irrelevant. Discrimination is fundamentally wrong and we should not forget basic standards of human courteous like our ancestors did. Also, I must emphasize, this is your decision whether to wholly consider this. I'd be very thankful if you did.

I've actually always agreed with you, Leah.
You may remember that harp joined this site almost exactly right after YAH left. And because of that fact, she was accused multiple times of being a new spam account made by YAH. I've always disliked the "new users vs. old users" thing on GTQ, and I always will. I haven't been here for a year yet, I joined last March. Heph has only been here since October of 2010, and Selena has only been here since December of 2010.
It's also sad that so many trolls and spammers have polluted this forum to the point where it's hard to trust new users who haven't been here long enough to gain a reputation yet.
The only reason that I've been able to shake the newbie stereotype off of myself is because, honestly, I'm terrified of rejection in any form, thanks to a few idiots who destroyed my early childhood. -.-
Because of that, I automatically try to figure out what the majority of people in any situation want me to do. Therefore, I was able to fit in with the older GTQ users.
After a couple months of molding myself into an average well-known GTQ user, I began to slowly show my own personality without anything being witheld. It sucks that newbies are probably going to have to do that in order to become liked on this site, but it's how things are. Once you get through the first two or three months of "molding", you're almost completely free to say what you want here.
I originally typed this thread to try and help new users to not end up being flamed off the site, and to discourage spammers, screamers, and trolls at the same time. -

I agree this thread was made to help newer users. Another tip is not to post in insult threads when you're a newb. That's what got me into a fight with some older users
