I sat in my room, looking outside. The moon was up. This was the type of night creeps would come out, Mom had always said. I loved these nights. -

Dylan walked down a dark street. Who ever planned out these streetlights was a dumbash. They were spread so far apart there was a pocket of shadow between them. -

I looked at the streetlights. They washed artificial light across the pavement, making the manmade objects look natural and beautiful.
I'd always been told I was a future poet. -
Dylan saw the only house with a light still on.
What are you doing up so late? Dylan asked himself. -
I glanced over at the door, making sure the towel was still at the bottom. I'd read that in a book. If you put a towel there, parents couldn't see the light. I was free to gaze out at the night and look for stars, even though the light pollution was thick.
