"Oh, how smart you are, Peyton. Because flying around in the open sky when the Whitecoats know I'm with you mill most definitely not give away your location." He smirked, knowing he was staying.
Lena rolled her eyes. "Now, we head to Crete tomorrow, since tooday is not an option, considering Roger ---"
"Crete? As in Greece? No. We're going to Italy." Roger said matter of factly. -
"Um, excuse me?" Peyton raised an eyebrow. "I don't think that you have a say in what my flock does, cosidering that you're a Whitecoat."
-
Roger reached for a shiny red apple in the middle of the table. "Guess again, princess. We're going to Italy. Venice, to be exact." He bit into the apple.
Lena thought of Dylan. "Why Venice?"
"Because I said so." Roger swallowed his bite of apple. -
"No. We are not. I am the leader and a better leader then you were. We're going to where ever I say we're going. And by morning, your gone. Your not coming anywhere with us. I don't trust you, so that's that. You might as well leave now." Peyton stood, getting angrier.
(Sorry, I have to go! Continue some other day, 'kay? Bai Nikki!) -
"Look, if we put it to a vote, they would vote for me and you know it. We actually shut down one of the Whitecoat facilities under my reign. And there's a reason we're going to Venice: for a certain someone." Roger took another bite of apple.
Lena thought for a second. "Dylan's dead, Roger. A Whitecoat killed him, we were there."
Roger leaned in lose. "Oh really? Now, who would you trust: Someone who saw him die a few weeks ago, or someone who saw him yesterday?"
(Okay, Remy. This is actually a pretty good story xD We'll continue it another time... ciao!) -
Peyton was fuming. She hated it when someone tried to take over what was hers.
"You need to leave right. Now." She was shaking, she was so angry. Something little would make her go off, then she'd start screaming. Lena knew that about her. Her whole flock did. But not Roger.
She would fight whoever was making her made. Fight till the death. She hated to be angry. She looses her breathe when she is.
"Leave and dont you dare come back. You have no right to tell my flock what to do, you worthless traitor." -
Lena knew very well about her friend's temper. But, as everyone knew, Roger was an instigator. But he was smmart, and he seemed serious.
"Look, She-Hulk, relax! Sit down and relax. I'm just trying to explain to you the best way to live and to actually make some progress, instead of hiding around like your "flock" has been doing for months." Roger put his feet up on the table, continuing to eat his apple.
"Guys, please! Peyton, it's okay. Just listen to what he has to say, please." She turned to Roger. "And Roger, shut up. Sayu what you have to say, then shut up. This is her flock, not yours. She's right, you're a traitor." Lena felt her own anger bubbling towards the surface, but knew she had to keep Peyton in check.
"I'm NOT a traitor. Everything I did was to protect the flock!" He stood up. "Not to mention going to Venice will benefit little miss princes more than the rest of us. And you haven't gven me the time to explain." -
Peyton was furious.
"LEAVE NOW." She shouted. "You traitor, you are a tratior! If I were you, I'd rather die for the flock than become one of Them! IM THE FLOCKER LEADER NOW, and Im sure as hell doing a better job than you. When you were here, as the flock leader, someone died. Lena, I don't want to listen to him and he needs to leave. Or I will kill him. No doubt." Peyton held her breathe, narrowing her eyes at Roger. -
Roger stood, very coolly. "Look, Peyton, my Father was a Whitecoat. Did I join him? No. I abandoned my FAMILY for this flock. When he died, they needed a son, and they tracked me. If I stayed here, you'd all be dead by now! So I left. To protect the flock, and you know what? I didn't do crap as a Whitecoat, other than collect information. Tell me, are the Whitecoats here right now? No. Because I'm keeping away their signals, so they wouldn't find you guys. Or me. And so what if someone died? That's life here, Peyton. He wasn't listening!" He sat back down. "And don't forget: someone died under you, too. So we're even. And I'm not going anywhere: I coming with the flock. To Venice."
Lena was going crazy. "What the hell is so good about Venice, Roger!?"
"Well, other than Dylan being stuffed in the wall of a hotel alive and needing rescue, there's really nice beaches and good weather. It's pretty cheap, too."
Lena gasped, unable to speak. Roger just smirked. -
Peyton started crying. She fell back and buried her head in her hands. It was true, she did love Dylan.
"Is Dylan really dead?" Brandon asked, coming out of hiding.
Peyton closed her eyes and cried harder. She hated the thought of Dylan dead; it freaked her out. She had always thought that he was dead... -
Lena went and conforted her friend. "Roger, what are you talking about?"
Roger stood, relaxed. "He's alive, Peyton. I found him, in the Whitecoat morgue, and got a healer. He's been alive for 2 months now, I've been hiding him in place to place. This week, he's inside a wall, inside a hotel in Venice."
He kneeled down and held Peyton's face in his hand. "And you know what? When he first woke up after the healer brought him back, his spoke your name. 'Peyton' was his first word. He couldn't say anything else other than your name for a few days, Princess. He loves you. And you love him. This is our chance to get him back, Peyton."
Lena couldn't stand hearing this. Sure, she never loved Dylan or anything, but he had been her brother's best friend. Before he died, of course. To speak the truth, she didn;t really miss him. But Peyton loved that boy more than everything in the world it was obvious. -
Peyton sucked in a heavy breathe and leaned against Lena. She couldn't really believe it. She bit her lip and coughed.
"I don't know if I believe you, though, Roger." She looked at the floor. She felt like she couldn't believe anyone. Anyone. She hated that she felt that way, but when your on the run with every adult scientist on your tail (or wings) telling you lye to lye. To lye.
She wanted to believa that Dylan was alive. But she couldn't. -
"Peyton, He's alive. I talked to him yesterday and told him I was getting you guys. Please, you have to believe me, Peyton. Or not, it's your choice. But last time I checked, shouldn't you want the love of your life to be alive?"
Lena understood what Peyton was feeling. She held her close, knowing that what Peyton was going through hurt. After all, Lena couldn't admit it, but she didn't know what she would do if Roger were gone.
"Peyton, I think he's telling the truth. Could we at least get the flock together and decide? We can't let our feeling cloud an important decision... no matter how strong they are." Lena gave her friend a small dmile. -
Peyton nodded.
"Sometimes, Lena, I think that you should realy be the flock leader. You deal better than me, anyways." She laughed dryly and looked at Roger. He did look like he was telling the truth. She dicided to trust him, but still have her gaurd up. -
"Lena? A leader? As if: she's not exactly a 'people person', if you know what I mean." He chuckled, and Lena had to laugh a little too.
"He's right. I'd be a terrible leader: you're the best there is--"
"Ahemm.... cough cough..." Roger let out.
Lena smirked. "You both are, but the flock doesn't exactly trust you, Roger. Everyone trust Peyton. Now, let's get everyone together and put it to a vote: explain the circumstances."
