I nodded. Then an idea popped into my mind. I could collect berries and herbs, if I went out into the forest. -
Ryoga sat on the dry ground for a moment, wiping his face again. "I need to get in the shade before I have a heat stroke."

When she got over, she heard them talking about the forest before running off in that direction. She hesitated, not knowing what dangers lurked there, but followed. Slowly.

I grabbed a small bowl from out hut andset off towards the woods.

He took in what he was able to gather and slipped off into the forest. "Finally..." He walked through the trees, looking for the creek.

She eventually saw them a ways off, but before she could get any closer a hand landed on her shoulder. She looked up into the eyes of a strange soldier, and screamed.

A ran to nearby stream. Berries were always plentiful there. A sat down on my knees, and started throwing them into my bowl, their sticky juice on my fingers.

He saw someone sitting there. "The daughter..." He shrugged and took off his shoes, rolling up his pants a bit to step in the water.

The soldier put a hand over her mouth, and soon she saw more surrounding the other children. Two more headed off to the stream.

I continued to pick them, occasionally plopping a few in my mouth.

He splashed water on his face and arms, a grin forming on his face. "This is so great!"

"You there!" one of the soldiers shouted, heading for the two.

"Huh? What?" I dropped my bowl and whipped around.

Ryoga jumped and turned. "The hell...!?"
