The little boy heard the notes from the organ and gave out a sharp scream.

Karma heard noises, and scurried off the counter, darting into the hallway and into her mouse hole.

And from below came the sound of the organ. It confused her, seeing as all the humans had left. "You hear that?" she asked.

"Yeah." She nodded.

Nefertari layed on the floor (in the position that she's laying in in her picture, I guess xD) for a moment, frozen, hoping no humans had heard. They almost never came except for on Sunday mornings, but sometimes the priest came to practice a sermon the day before, or a man came to clean the organ during the week, or other things. A couple of baby churchmice peeked out from behind the piano at the motionless Nefertari, then scampered away. Most reasonable churchmice knew that Nefertari would never hurt them, but their children were scared by her tall, dark, powerful appearance.

Kalen ran around, tripping on his tail several times, but nonetheless, he giggled.

"Lets go check it out." Ariana said, flapping her wings and flying down the stairs.

"Kay." Chiyoko flapped hers and followed.

Karma crawled out, and scampered to were the noise had come from.

Nefertari stood up, brushed herself off, and carefully made her way down the steps. She walked down the aisle, headed for the kitchen to find something to eat. The sanctuary's floor was wood, and beginning to rot in some places. It was fairly old, having been built sometime in the 70's. It was greatly in need of new flooring. As Nefertari passed the stained glass window with the angel Gabriel's picture on it, she winced at sunlight coming through a hole. Some lousy kids had broken a small hole in Gabriel's left arm, making it look rather awkward. And plus, birds were now nesting in the currently unused balcony above.

Nefertari came to the end of the aisle and looked to her right at a small, gray...whatever it was. Was it here for the churchmice? The humans had tried to kill the churchmice before, but Nefertari taught the mice to be more careful, so the humans forgot about them. Nefertari's eyes narrowed. "Why are you here?" she demanded.

"Me? I live here"Karma squeaked, waving her tail.
