Just like humans, dogs can cry tears of joy when reunited with people they love, according to a new study in the journal Current Biology. Researchers had previously found that dogs exhibit an increase in oxytocin levels when they interact with their owners (oxytocin being a hormone associated with love, affection, and bonding). In this new study, the same researchers wondered whether dogs, influenced by oxytocin, would be an emotional event for dogs, marked by tear production. The researchers measured the dogs’ tears when reunited with their owners after several hours apart, and compared their tear production to being reunited with someone they knew but who wasn’t their owner. The scientists found that when the dogs in the study were reunited with their owner, the dogs experienced a surge in oxytocin, followed by significant tear production—much more so than when they were reunited with other human acquaintances. While a worthwhile study, this just confirms what we already knew—dogs know and love their owners (and we totally don’t deserve them)

how come when scientists can predict solar and lunar eclipses at the exact moment they happen people will plan months in advance to go where its happening, book hotel rooms months before, and buy glasses when scientists talk about climate change, everybody calls them out, says they are fake, gets mad at them, and Denys it?

People don't like what they don't understand and the internet/fake news reporters show off wrong info often

^^ the orbit of the moon is definite every time, like the time between a waxing gibbous and a full moon is the same every time, whereas there's no easy way to measure climate change, so people tend to be more skeptical about it since studies about climate change are relatively new.

saw an interesring study between the relationship with physical attractiveness vs level of forgiveness, which basically concluded that the area of our brain which judges good/bad behavior is also linked to attractiveness, physically attractive suspects either have a higher chance of a not guilty verdict by jury or a lesser sentence by the judge if they are guilty. physically attractive people are also seen as kinder and more trustworthy. i'll have to look it up again and if I find it I'll post it here

soooooo i found this cool thing a few weeks ago that's called the infinite monkey theorem. it states that if you give a monkey enough time to type random letters into a typewriter, it will type the entire work of Shakespeare. but recent studies show that it would not be able to do it, even before the end of the universe.
