Shubble / Wilbur Situation
Claim: Wilbur was abusive towards Shubble with biting, gaslighting. Also used her for cleaning.
Defense: Contradictory apology on Twitter. Claimed the biting was, as he though, consensual and she never claimed otherwise. That he has received therapy and bettered himself.
Claim 2: Shubble is lying about this all, Wilbur is only apologizing to keep her image up.
Defense: Shubble's repeating claims that she is not lying.
Aftermath: Many people side with Shubble, and those who are on Wilbur's side are highly prone to attack online (ex. death threats, doxxing, etc.) Wilbur is taking a break and, as far as I understand, may not come back. People who are siding with Shubble are also under fire from the small amount on Wilbur's side. Some are more neutral and are not attacking, and few still watch/listen to Wilbur's things without necessarily supporting any problematic behaviour.
There is no way to fully understand the situation as we do not and will not have all of the information.
My stance:
Wilbur is far from innocent, but isn't worth the total "Burn Everything Wilbur" stance. I enjoy Wilbur as a creator and as an artist, and if he can prove that he has grown from this, he may be able to earn back part of his former fanbases' trust. However, assuming Shubble isn't lying (which is always a possibility, unfortunately), I am supporting Shubble and wish her a fine recovery from this part of her life. -
Caiti / George Allegations
Claim: George S/A'ed Caiti while drunk at a party (?) (They were both drunk, she was under 21)
Defense: George originally claimed he did no such thing, but then apologized after further claims were brought up.
Aftermath: George has not posted any streams nor videos (excluding responses). I have no idea where Caiti is or what she is doing.
My stance:
After watching the video, it seems highly staged to me. I am not great with social cues, and I very well could be wrong, but the entire situation feels wrong to me. He had apparently touched her chest, in which this is her reaction. Now, I won't say that isn't problematic. This is not acceptable. However, from the sound of it, it wasn't as if he was trying to force her into anything truly "naughty". This does fall under the s/a rhelm of attacks. However, as I've seen as an example, pushing someone over could be considered physical assault, but is not enough of a reason to drive someone from their career and friends. I would understand this more if it seemed like it was purposeful or if he went much farther. While I wish Caiti a recovery from the touching, as no one should be touched like that, this I cannot say deserved the blowing up it did. It seems a bit like an extreme case of misinformation, lack of communication, and should have been handled privately. -

George is not innocent of the touching, he has apologized for that, but there needs to be a serious line drawn between accidentally touching someone intimately while cuddling (or just in general) and trying to force someone into activities in the rhelm.
