Ok I may have been forced to read Heartstopper by my friend but I watched it without anyone forcing me to, and same with Love Victor (though I haven't read the book that Love Simon is based off of (pretty sure it's banned reading where I live or something) ) -

I get a majority of my fav show recommendations from friends lol, EXECPT Ted Lasso and Nimona, and in Ted Lasso sum1 comes out as gay in season three so technically it counts -
I MEAN that all the libraries where I live don't have it, and it's a book that's one f---ing awards and got a MOVIE, so it's not like NONE OF THEM have heard of it, plus my district bans a s--- ton of gay books (I think they have 52 books they've banned from all their schools/public libraries in general, and most of them are because they talk about sexuality so like-)

We still have a lot of books that talk about that stuff *cough Heartstopper and The Art of Being Normal and literally anything by Rick Riordan and Mark Oshiro *cough* but a good ton of books got banned at the school, and the public library hardly has anything for kids for some reason-
Half the teachers in my school are queer or have queer kids but it's not up to them to choose what books to keep.
I just live in a super homophobic state tbh (I mean, it's not as much homophobic as it is religious and INCREDIBLY full of closeted gays (it's the most closeted state in the US unless google lied to me-) )
Idk man but I found one of the books that got banned like a month ago at an empty park and it's mine now so like- -

That’s fair enough, but still- I live in the most homophobic state in Australia, which sucks, but the only ppl who are the most homophobic are students and parents who don’t teach and aren’t in customer service

Yeah. My state it just depends on where you live. Like, the school I go to is like the gay bar of schools here, because all the other ones are so straight and christian, and then there's mY scHooL. And if you drive to the main city, it's literally in the top ten gayest cities in America soooo
