Thread Topic: ibispaint users, come over here
-
Ok so, I bought ibispaint pro on my phone, since it wouldn't let me on my laptop. I mainly use my laptop for drawing, and I use the same account on both my devices for the app. I expected that pro would automatically work on my laptop, since I'd already bought it, but it's not and I'm not quite sure how to fix it?
Did this happen to any of ya'll? -
So, I tried to do some digging. The only thing I could find was from one other person who was having a similar issue, but they were using an Apple product and an Android product.
It should work, because the website says as long as you use the same email, you should still have access to pro.
Someone also said you can go in settings, and it should give you a restore purchase option.
I don't use that for art anymore, otherwise I would be of more help. I'm sorry! Keep me updated, and I will try to help as much as I can! -
Yeah, my phone is apple and my laptop is HP. I’ve tried restarting my laptop and the app but it still won’t work for some reason.
Here’s what happens when I try and restore the purchases:
I am using the same email address, it even sent me one confirming my purchase.
Alg! I appreciate your help :) -
So, according to some people on Reddit with the same issue, apparently Ibis Paint is device specific (which sucks, and I'm sorry!), but I'll link this for you to read the post and comments!

This may also help answer your question. This is from the Ibis FAQ page.

Oh, that makes sense. I had downloaded ibisPaint from the App Store on my phone and Microsoft store on my laptop
Tysm for your help 🙏 I really appreciate it -
While we're on this, do you have any idea how to purchase it on my laptop? I'll post a pic of what comes up if that helps, but it may just be my settings or the type of laptop I use
If not, could you recommend any other drawing apps? 🙏 -
If you could send a pic, that would be great!
Someone on here recently recommended Krita, and I love it so far! I also used to use FireAlpaca, so you could give that a shot and see if you like it!
I used to use SketchbookExpress, but I don't know if they have a PC version.
Sorry I got back so late to you! -
Ofc, here it is:
Good to know! I’ll definitely look into those.
Alg! Take your time, haha -
So, you could try this. I'm going to copy and paste it from the Microsoft Help!
1. Make sure to download the latest Windows Update on your computer. Please go to SETTINGS > WINDOWS UPDATE > CHECK FOR UPDATES, then INSTALL if there are any.
2. Go to the Windows search bar, then type in Microsoft Store, then click it to launch. Next, click LIBRARY, then GET UPDATES.
3. Go to SETTINGS > APPS > INSTALLED APPS > search for Microsoft Store, then click three dots to open options > select ADVANCED OPTIONS > please scroll down until you see Reset, please click REPAIR, then relaunch the Microsoft Store app. If you are still able to download Ibis paint, click RESET.

Tried the first two suggestions, but didn't work :') Microsoft store didn't come up when I searched for it
It's probably just not compatible with my laptop, but tysm for all your help -
What type of laptop do you have? Is it capable of downloading programs from the internet as opposed to the Microsoft Store? If yes, here's links for the programs Jade mentioned:

If you're looking for a paid PC art program, I'd recommend following Clip Studio Paint to watch for a deal on their Pro program. I believe I got it for $20 or less a few years ago. Personally, I really enjoy all of the features it comes with for the base price... plus, there's a lot of free assets (brushes, etc.) made by other users that will enhance your digital drawing experience! -
Alsooooo idk if this is useful, but I found a detailed (?) instruction manual on how to fix the Microsoft store if it's not letting you download or purchase apps:

^^ My laptop uses windows, and I know from experience it can download things from the internet, so ty for the links :D
Ooh, thx for the recommendation! I’ll def give it a try
Thanks, I’ll take a look at that when I can!
