i'm really anxious. it's the first day of school, i'm way overdressed, my mom yelled at me earlier, and i'm just having a nervous breakdown...

i dunno. i'm trying to relax and calm down, because i know it'll be okay, but my paranoia is kicking in and telling me everyone is looking at me. they have a new policy where it's no phones, but a majority of my teachers haven't cared if my headphones are in, so i'm trying to calm down using my music.

Deep, steady breaths. If the worst thing that happens to you today is some judgmental f--- thinking you look overdressed, you'll be doing great. It often helped me, when I was younger and self-conscious, to consider the following: If the worst case scenario happens, it would still be a blessing in one form. If a kid is mean to you because of how you dress, aren't they a dick? Haven't they just shown you what they are before you find out by making friends with them and then having to deal with it from someone you care for?

The way I see it, if people are mean, at least they're honest about it. It would suck to get into their good graces by concealing the aspects of yourself you think they won't like, just to have to continue to hide those things to keep them around. The trash would be taking itself out, and that's only if anyone actually is mean. Chances are, no one is looking.

true enough. i felt really good this morning, but now my tie feels really tight. but i can still breathe if i don't focus on my throat. i think i just need to go home and decompress later.
