Everybody deserves a second chance means
"Oh you had bad behavior but you've changed and grown since then, so I'm willing to give you a chance"
It does NOT mean
"Oh you did a bad thing and haven't changed since then, but I'm willing to play nice until you do the bad thing again" -
Second chances are earned. If I see that you're the same ol' stinker you were then, you don't deserve my second chance

Learning that the antidote to negativity was warmth, not positivity has changed my life

I used to be a very positive person which wasn't necessarily a good thing or a bad thing, but I've found a better approach to other people's sadness

Instead of acting like nothing's wrong, I try to acknowledge their hurt and offer them comfort. I find it works a lot better than saying everything's okay, because it's not sometimes
