Thread Topic: My breathing is weird
-
It feels like my throat is going to spontaneously close up
It's like I don't quite have a breathing pattern anymore
It feels better if I sit up straight
If I lean back it feels like it's going to close up below the throat, in the chest, but the top of my throat doesn't feel like that, kind of like a funnel -
What was the last thing you ate?
-
Chicken and cheese sandwich. bbq chips, and offbrand chips ahoy. Never had a problem with any of those foods.
Feels worse if I curl up my legs beside me when sitting
Standing helps. Especially walking. -
It's getting better
-
Don't know what was going on
Still feel it kind of, though. -
Sounds like an allergic reaction. That sucks I hope you feel better soon. Maybe take a Benadryl?
-
Do allergic reactions usually just come and go like that?
I don't know what I would suddenly be allergic to either. -
I'm not sure. Benadryl is an antihistamine though so if you take it and it goes away you'll know for sure.
-
I won't be able to for another two hours.

I developed an allergy to casein (protein in diary) after being food allergy free for ~18 years of my life. I would recommend cutting back on dairy for a few consecutive days just in case you're going through a similar situation.
-
I don't have that much dairy in my diet anyways, but I might try that.
-
Also it's completely gone now
-
I asked my mom and she said it was the beginnings of a panic attack that didn't develop into a full on attack
-
Oh, golly, I didn't think about that. I'm glad you're alright now, and that she helped you figure out the source!
-
So am I.
It's funny, it just started randomly while I was having lunch. Aren't they usually triggered? Or if you're under enough stress can they just happen out of the blue like that?
