Compared to animals, humans seem pretty stupid. I mean, we could use a cat or dog for example. They can live for several human years, and yet, it only takes a couple of months for them to be able to take care for themselves. Meanwhile, it takes us several years. As a matter of fact, that cat or dog most likely is dead by the time we're able to take care of ourselves. Just saying...

Yes, but even though our development isn't as fast as animals, we develop far much more intelligence and have a longer lifespan

Yeah, they learn much earlier in life because their lifespans are much shorter
