Depends on your class. Warlocks like me draw magic from their patron in exchange for something, usually your soul
Clearics and paladins are the same way, drawing magic from a god but through worship not sacrifice
Druids get magic from plants ig
Sorcerers get magic from their bloodline
Bards use music i think?
And wizards are nerds -
