Some of the things they label as synesthesia I think is just because they don't have an explanation for it.

So do I. Like, my temperature seeing is just because my eyes can discern more on the electromagnetic spectrum
And technically my mom and grandpa have personality to touch synesthesia.
But my mom described what it's like being an empath to me, and it sounds absolutely nothing like synesthesia, it's like a superpower -
I've only ever been to two chili cook-offs.
And I won a prize for both of them.
Last year I won the spiciest
This year we're at a different church and I got 3rd place.
I even won against this one guy who has experience with hot peppers and he used to be a chef! -
I've never even looked at a chili recipe in my life, I just made it up.
