My sister has been making a lot of homophobic/transphobic "jokes" lately, and one of them consisted of "apparently everyone is gay now. There's no straight people left!".
Which is incorrect.
She's just knows a lot of gay people, including me and my second-youngest sister. And some of my friends. And one of her friends. -
Also, I know I'm being petty. It just hit a nerve that made me annoyed.

Tbf if you're wanting to prove there are straight ppl left gtq probably isn't the most accurate source of statistics since the majority (but not all) here are LGBT+ 😠anybody who thinks LGBT is the majority population for ppl would for sure be wrong tho and very goofy too LOL

Like acrimony said. This isn't an accurate data pool for you to look at. Statistically, more people are straight than they are gay. However, more people are openly LGBT now than they were historically merely because of the culture surrounding it... It's been historically unacceptable to be gay so I can understand why many people think "wow why are all these people deciding to be gay all of the sudden." The truth is that no one is suddenly "deciding to be gay." It's not a trend. It's just that people are more comfortable exploring their sexuality now than they used to be.

It also depends on what your social life looks like. If you or your sister are in the arts sector or live in a more liberal area you will notice a disproportionate amount of LGBT people.

I know it isn't very accurate, but tbh I also was curious as well lol
As far as I know, there's at least 15 people at my school that are LGBTQ, and more than 10 that are straight and homophobic/transphobic as f---. So there's definitely more LGBTQ people than usual in my city.
