Okay, so my little sister wants a phone. My parents, so far, said that it’s fine. I know that it’s completely irresponsible to give her a phone at her age, she’s 9 and a 3rd grader. She has no after school activities or sports, and is always driven around by my parents or nanny. She’s not even asking for a flip phone or anything simple. She wants an iPhone 7 Pro.
I know that there are reasons to convince my parents that it’s a really bad decision, such as:
- Social medias can influence someone’s self-confidence. She shouldn’t be exposed to the judginess of media yet
- There could be 18+ things online, and it’s really bad if she accidentally sees that stuff. She’s too young to know about things like that, and also shouldn’t be exposed to sensitive topics.
Anyways, I wanted to ask if you guys could help me convince my parents not to get her one. I’m not trying to make her mad, or trying to ruin her life or anything. I don’t think she’s going to be safe with her own phone until she’s older. Ultimately, it’s my parents’ choice but I want to convince them to wait until she’s older. -

My roblox character doesn't have the same hair color as I do. It doesn't look remotely similar to me (other than the huge pair of black and rainbow colored wings coming out of my back /j)
None of my avatars in any games look like me either
They probably aren't pretending to look like something they don't, they just think those haircolors look cool on their character. The whole point of having customizable characters is being able to express yourself however you choose -
