do u ever say something that leads someone to believe that u want said thing but u dont want it but u dont wanna tell them that u dont want it because it just seems like youre changing your mind and not telling them the truth
yes -
this guy is talking to me about the bible and as someone who's christian but has never read the bible, doesnt plan to, but still believes in god:
im really confused i do not know what a psalm is -
A psalm is like a chapter of the bible
-
ohhh
-
they confuse me i dont understand it i dont think christianity is for me
-
It doesn’t have to be
-
hm religion is confusing then
-
It is
For some people it’s easier to stick w it and then the rest kinda lose it
Doesn’t make you a bad person, but I could be a really bad feeling especially if you were raised like that -
see but skeptics and scientists are saying that the bible contradicts itself in multiple areas and they've also proved some of the content in the bible from, so i dont know where i stand with it
or i kind of do, i just dont know what that means in terms of my relationship with god
because i want to live a good life, be kind and generous to others, do good things, and morally be a good person. But i dont want to do everything that the bible tells me to do, because i feel like it restricts what i get out of my own life, and i dont ever wanna feel held back -
Scientists contradict themselves too
-
late posts ong killing me slowly
My dad's ethnically Jewish (he's atheist so he kind of discourages faith and stuff) and my mom is a pretty devoted Christian. She's told me about miracles in her life and i think it led to my belief in God because it really feels as if someone was watching over me when i was little, and i never felt alone even when i was physically by myself.
but my mom does also share my skepticism, even if she doesnt say it out loud. because she hasnt read the bible but strongly believes that someone is watching over her and somebody is always by her side -
Get that
-
but i disagree with that, because science is science.
if new research contradicts old research, then scientists figure out where the old results may have come from. but it's constantly one theory debunks the old theory
i seriously cannot think of an example off the top of my head for the life of me, but heres something that may work:
-
this isnt true, but it's just for the purpose of being an example.
Say that a bunch of decades ago, people thought that grass was green because (idk) aliens came down to earth and painted it that color
Nowadays, we know that grass is green because chlorophyll in the grass only reflects green light
-
so both instances cant be true, one can only debunk the other -
But also, science literally can't contradict itself. There's only one answer as to why everything is.
New research constantly proves old research wrong, because that old research maybe didn't have good labs or experiments, or wasn't explored as thoroughly as the new research has been. But generally, new research builds off of and adds to old research. -
help me i contradicted myself
i swear i have thoughts in my head but writing things down is like hell for me
