i hate surprises

If you’re unsure if I’ll like a surprise or not, I definitely will not. I get that it’s fun but if people do the thing where they just pop out and are like, “HAPPY BDAY!!”
I’m just gonna be confused. Like I’m not gonna laugh bc it’s awkward, I’m not gonna smile bc idk how to react. -
and it’s not that I don’t like that people care abt me, but my reaction to surprises is so meh that I don’t want ppl to feel bad

I feel like sometimes I focus so much on one person and my relationship with them that I don’t realize that they have other people in their life, and that they can walk away from me. Sometimes I forget that, and that person’s found someone else to talk to.
