Thread Topic: I finally connected some things for Beauty and the Beast

One of the reasons that Belle was afraid of the Beast when she was caught in the West Wing was because she was afraid that he was going to hurt her, not just because he was a big furry guy losing his temper. It wasn't as if it could clear up in a few days, she broke her promise and ran away because of this. One of the reasons she was afraid of him hurting her wasn't just crossfire from him throwing tables and such around. It was also because he had already shown that he didn't care about her wellbeing. He had yelled at her to starve, even though everyone needs to eat. That scene where she wasn't hungry was him losing his temper, but it also showed that he didn't care if she died or not. Because of this, the fact that he was getting so violent from her being somewhere she wasn't supposed to be and directly disobeying him frightened her.
The other thing I put together was why the Beast lashed out every time the West Wing was involved.
The West Wing was his heart (That's why it's called the west wing. When you face north, your heart is to the west of your body). The rose was his love and goodness. I'm not exactly sure what the mirror is yet, maybe it's just a mirror, but I feel like it's not.
He had built up walls around himself. He had a cold heart, having almost never felt love. When Belle opened the doors to go into the West Wing, she was beginning to see into his heart. It was an ugly and broken place. But in the very back, hidden away, she found the beautiful things about him. She took off the covering of the rose, tearing away the last layer, which maybe was his admittance to defeat of being a monster forever, and was about to touch his heart.
But then the Beast caught her. There was so much risk with what she was almost unknowingly doing. He had already accepted defeat, and suddenly there was a chance of salvation and it scared him. If she touched his heart, his love, she might damage it beyond repair. So he went as fast as he could and slammed that defeat back on his heart. He would rather be a beast forever without heartbreak and hurt rather than one with. Then he unleashed the monster in himself, showing Belle what he had decided to be.
But the thing was she had gotten into his heart and even though he had stopped her from completely reaching the depths of it, she had gotten close enough. Because as soon as he found out that she had run away, he went after her. It might have been for selfish reasons, her being his only chance at being human. But I like to think that he knew that the woods between him and her home was deadly and he wanted to keep her out of danger as much as he could.
And then Belle couldn't help but see the change in him, so instead of leaving him to die she took him back to the castle and took care of him. -
And honestly I feel kinda stupid that it took so long for me to figure this out.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that even though Lumiere said that she was a guest, she knew that the Beast thought of her as a prisoner.
