So basically my parents have cameras all around the house. I think a few of you know that.
They've been giving me a ton of anxiety and stress lately. My parents know that, and because they know that they want to install more because they think I'm doing something behind their backs.
So they plan on installing some upstairs.
In the bedrooms.
I literally have no privacy whatsoever. They looked at the recordings and saw that I had flipped off a camera. (And surprisingly so did my brother- đź’€) soooo I got in trouble for even KNOWING why the middle finger was bad.
But no privacy.
None
They want to see every aspect of what me and my siblings days are like. It's really uncomfortable.
Is what they're doing okay..? I know they're VERY strict. ;-; -
I’d personally not do that especially to that level of no privacy 3
-
yo what the f---
-
That's bad of them, yes
They shouldn't be putting cameras in a teenage girls bedroom. Even if they think that's keeping you safe, that is EXTREMELY violating. How do they expect you to know when to enforce boundaries in your adult life if they're invading all of them now? People who have kids and think they have the inherent right to control them are so wrong. It's awful I'm so sorry -
No. It's certainly not okay. Kids need privacy.
-
i agree with bread, this is not okay at all
-
Not okay. Extremely invasive and controlling and it sends a message to their kids that they don't trust them, nor respect them. Even in their own home. It also sends a bad message about boundaries to their kids. That it's okay to invade and step over them, or to have somebody exert that control, and that family does not have boundaries or privacy. When it isn't okay. At all.
I dont think I have ever heard a positive story come out of parents thinking it's okay to do things like this. Because it is not okay. I'm so sorry they behave like this, you deserve privacy and respect -
I strongly agree with bread. Why do people need to be installing secret cameras if, for ex, the kids are tryna surprise them? This is not good at all. Do they wanna be the kids or smth? đź’€

That doesn't sound good at all, cameras in the BATHROOM? I think that's crossing into illegal territory there
-
I kind of doubt it's illegal since it's in their house.
But I wish it was, I'm sorry you have to deal with this. -
There was talk about installing them in bathrooms. I took it seriously, but I eventually figured out that was a joke. Even my parents know that's crossing the line.
It's okay guys. I'm tryna come up with a plan to get rid of those stupid cameras.
1. Somehow convince my brother to help me take them down and then destroy them.
2. Ask my parents to stop and respect my privacy.
3. My brother suggested this a while ago, but I’m not gonna do it. He asked if we should just run away.
I wasn’t gonna do that bc n o.
Idk what he thinks about it now. He hasn't mentioned anything about running away. It's been a while since that suggestion popped up.
4. Deal with it.
The first one might be what I'll have to do. -
God that’s terrifying
-
🍠oh god i’m so sorry, yeah that’s definitely NOT okay and an extremely privacy-violating act.
-
NOT OK NOT OK NOT OK
