So at lunch yesterday, my boyfriend joked about getting cancer from his diet coke, something about the sugar substitution in there.
Then he looked at me in realization and said "Sorry, I forgot."
I told him I didn't mind because I've never minded in the past.
Then later at lunch, I don't think even ten minutes later, he brought the joke up again, and I'm just like, "No, I don't want to think about a third person I care about getting cancer all in the same year."
Why is my brain going back and forth on the topic with not caring if you talk about cancer and not wanting to hear it so quickly? -
I think you’re in denial. You’re probably not fine with it and you’re most likely still very sensitive about the topic. It’s best if you tell everyone to avoid it even if you think you’re okay. Better safe than sorry.
