So. As some of you might know, I'm a fairly neat person. I like to organize things, and I especially love preserving things I care for.
That said, I wanna pitch the idea of a Gotoquiz Encyclopedia. I'll host it on Tumblr. I've already made the blog, it's just gonna be blank until I figure out exactly what to do with it. That's where y'all come in. I welcome everyone to interact, regardless of any history we might have, because I want this to be as complete a project as possible.
Tumblr is a particularly useful site for something like this for a number of reasons.
It has a mobile app as well as a website. Most of us should be able to access it in one form or another.
It supports several different formats for posts, including videos, audio, pictures, and text. This gives us a wide array of options for what we want to document on the blog.
It has a tagging system. I love tags so much. We'll be able to keep it organized, so maybe each user can have their own tag, as well as different tags for each different post type. For example, if one wanted to locate every meme Spice has ever made on Gotoquiz, they could simply search the blog for the tags #SprinkledSpice and #Meme.
Next, I'll share with you all my ideas for things we can include on the blog. I'd like feedback on any of them, if you don't think we should have them or if you think we could expand on them. I also want any ideas y'all might have. Sorry if I forget anything, I'm supposed to be getting ready for work right now, and instead I'm taking on a new project lmao. Anyway, my ideas follow:
A character sheet post, but, like, for our users. Like an introduction, but with a standard format that just covers basic information people should know about a user. Everyone that wants to be on the blog could fill one out, and they could be tagged by username and #basicinfo for easy accessibility. Then, we just update them if anything changes. Y'all know where to find me if you want to make changes to your pronouns or names, for instance.
Memes. We have a thread dedicated to them, but it's getting awfully long, and the memes in the middle will be lost to time. We could tag them by username, username mention, and #Meme for organizational purposes.
Maybe just a little introduction paragraph from everyone? We have an introduction thread, and I don't mean to replace it by any means. This could just be like a little letter to oneself or to Gotoquiz as a whole.
I think it would be really cool to try to document the first thread everyone makes so they can look back on it if they're still here years down the line. It's just really awesome to see how people started and how they've changed over time in my opinion.
Any kind of projects? You bet. We can keep track of and date your art, music, writing, anything you want!
This one might be a bit of a bummer, but maybe we could also include people's goodbye threads under their usernames if they decide to leave? I don't know.
Maybe selfies? I know a lot of you are too young to be posting pictures of yourselves, and there's no pressure to do so. But I think it would be kind of like a cool scrapbook if we posted pictures of our users in the order that they're taken, like watching everyone grow up.
I'm gonna put this one right here because it's largely being suggested due to that last one. Password protection. When a user joins and sticks around for a week or so (maybe longer? what do you think?) they get the URL and password to the blog. This way, random strangers won't have access to your information or pictures.
Maybe documentation of everyone's alts?
GTQ news. I and any mods we elect will keep the blog up to date with the recent happenings of the site.
These are all the ideas I can think of off the top of my head. I gotta get ready for work. Please let me know if any of you have any suggestions or feedback. If you don't, but would still like to help out, please keep this thread bumped for me so everyone has an opportunity to see it and contribute. If you have Tumblr and are interested in being a mod on the blog, say so here as well, and others can give their input on whether or not they support you as a mod. Please keep this bit respectful and professional. It's not personal- I'm just looking for objective and dedicated people to help out. -

I don't think there's any one real way to make friends, but that does give me the idea of having people provide guides to Gotoquiz
for the instructions type, we'd find just one user that knows the material well and ask them to write it
for something to which there are many different approaches, like how to make friends, we could poll the community and post everyone's answers so we have a more complete set of guides -
