So in this assignment we have to write an alternate ending for a mystery story.
I know what I want to happen, but I'm at a spot where I don't quite know where to go from here
So basically this book is written in 3rd person and the author is following the main character around
And she NEVER switches POVs even ONCE
Except for this alternate ending, the main character is asleep and is going to get killed in his sleep.
So I don't know if it would be appropriate to switch POVs or what -
Have u asked the teacher if u can switch POV’s?
-
One of the english teachers is helping another kid and the other one is not in the classroom
-
Oh my
You can switch POV’s unless the teachers said u couldn’t? -
I just want to stay consistent with what the author does
And since she never switches POVs, I'm kinda stuck -
Maybe you could do semi-POV then? Like "I lay asleep in my bed after a long day, exhausted. I didn't even hear the footsteps entering my room and didn't even feel the blade that brought my demise. Just a dim, unbroken darkness that gives away to death."

I read this one interesting story about a bank robbery, but the main character gets shot by the robbers. And it still stays in his POV for the entire story.
What happened was it almost seemed like time slowed. There were vivid descriptions of how the bullet traveled it's way through his brain, and all of his last thoughts came to mind like a flash of memories. In between the memories were his last moments of consciously seeing what was going on around him. Anyway it was a very interesting short story and I'll find it for you if you want -
Well, the story continues a little even after the man dies, and also there are a few other things that the reader has to know to wrap up the story well.
-
Idk if you want to change the POV then I think it's your choice. It's not consistent but I don't think it has to be
-
Yeah, that's what I did because I really didn't see any other option
