Previously, we had two dachshunds; Goliath and Jingles.
Jingles -
Near-senior dachshund who's age was unknown but who was around 8 or 9. Our guess was 7, because he was still energetic. He would smile whenever he was happy- literally! He'd open his mouth, show his teeth and grin! He was a rescue dog; before we got him [might I add for FREE], he would eat rotten hotdogs and fight against bigger dogs for it. His hind leg was ruined.
Goliath -
Young stinker. Rambunctious one. Possessed by a squirrel. 2 years old at the time.

One normal day, our two dachshunds were out in the yard, wrestling and playing. A 16 or 17 year old girl knocked on our door. We answered.
She had an adorable 1 year old red dachshund in her arms. He was so bright, so beautiful;
Then I noticed his ribs.
He was exhausted, and I could see his ribs shining through his skin, singing; "I haven't eaten in weeks! I haven't drinken in days! I haven't played in months!"
I was heartbroken but excited at the same time. Then the girl began speaking to my parents.
"Hi, I'm (I'll call her E for now) E. This is my dog, Sebastian. My boyfriend and I noticed you have some dachshunds, we were wondering if you could take him in, too... We live with our parents. We're poor. We need money to buy an apartment."
I ran to get some dog food for him as a treat as my parents and her continued talking.
When I returned, he gobbled it down, not even chewing.
I knew he was hungry.
I knew he was starving.
I knew he would die if he didn't get help.
My parents, the next week, decided to buy him for 200. That was a week after my birthday. He was a shy little fellow; we got rid of the other dachshunds, finding them good homes...
I cried for days, but knew deep down Sebastion was all I needed.
Here he is now, cooped up in my arms, plump and content! We're insperable, best friends; he truly is a miracle. -
