I've been on the verge of leaving for a few months now. At first, I didn't want to make a thread about it. I wasn't sure whether or not I would stick to it. However, I think I'm ready to move on. Hopefully this will be the last goodbye thread I ever make, haha.
You may have seen me pop on a couple of times. I cannot lie; I commented here and there when issues were brought up to me. My impulses were hard to ignore. However, that will not happen again. If you still have contact with me off-site, please do not bring up the site to me. I care about the future of the site, but I will never be able to move on if I am contacted about drama or issues. There are other active moderators who, as far as I know, have no intentions of leaving. Please bring up any site-related issues to them from here on out. Additionally, if you see any posts from DarkIsTheCat after this thread, they are likely not from me. I've asked that my account be used in my absence, and potentially even permanently passed on to a worthy user sometime in the future.
As some of you may have noticed, I purged a lot of my social media. I would like to cut off old ties. If you happen to have some of the last standing social media of mine, please do not share the username with ANYONE without asking me first. I know that this seems unfair, given that many of you may want to contact me in the future. But, I am looking out for my well-being and ensuring that I will never again have contact with certain people. I hope you all understand.
At some point in the future, I hope to pass on accounts that have never been used or have few posts. This will likely be done through another user.
This site influenced how I grew up. I still consider this site as a second home. It means a lot to me. I hope that those of you who are active today will continue to make use of the forums and develop your own friendships that will stick with you for many years. Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives, even if you only ever saw me as some kind of authority figure. I pray that you all will have wonderful lives, as you deserve nothing less. Take care of yourselves. -
